The short version
The shade finder runs entirely in your browser. What you search for and the shades you pick are never sent to us or anyone else. We use no cookies, no analytics, no advertising tags and no third-party fonts or scripts.
Photos
If you use "Estimate from a photo", your photo is read in your browser on your own device. It is never uploaded, sent or stored, by us or anyone else. The face-reading files are served from this site, and the page blocks every connection to other sites, including the usage report that the face-reading library would otherwise send to its maker, Google. When the reading is done, the photo is discarded from the page.

What we collect and why

We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for profiling or advertising.
Who receives it
Our web hosting provider, which serves the site and processes connection details on our behalf, and our email provider, for messages you send us. Both act as our processors under a written agreement. Some of their processing may take place outside the UK. Where it does, it is covered by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask to move it. Email hello@foundationshades.com. We'll acknowledge a complaint within 30 days and answer most requests within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

Changes
If we add anything that changes this policy (for example advertising, which would need your consent first), we'll update this page and the date above before it goes live.
